Here you can read how to do a basic installation for the Williamsburg Series Pet Proof Patio Screen door and the optional Adjustable Height Expander.  A simple tool list is also provided.  Each project should take an average time of one-half to one full hour.

Tool List

  • Screwdriver - Philips #2

  • Screwdriver - Regular / Flat head

  • Tape Measure

  • Utility Knife

  • Hack Saw

Basic Installation - Patio Screen

  1. Remove the old door.

  2. Loosen the adjuster screws on the top & bottom so they are almost removed from the door allowing the wheels to be pushed up into the door.

  3. Insert the top of the door into the top track.

  4. Swing the bottom of the door over the bottom track. NOTE: A flathead screwdriver may help to lift the wheels over the bottom track.

  5. Adjust all screws to evenly tension the top & bottom wheels.

  6. Measure the height of the locking mechanism in the door.

  7. Install the keeper in the jamb wall so the mechanism locks down into the keeper.

  8. Adjust the Uniprene bug sweep to fit the height and all contours of the door for a complete seal.

Adjustable Height Expander Instructions.

  1. Determine which end is the top of your screen.

  2. Remove the adjuster screws completely, from the top only.

  3. Remove the wheels from the top of the door.

  4. Install the 3² adjuster screws supplied with the expander.

  5. Measure the depth of the side jamb where the lock keeper goes.

  6. Deduct this measurement from the expander and cut to size.  NOTE: Notch the back of the weatherstripping where it meets on the expander to allow it to stay flush.

  7. Put on the expander, keeping it flush with the non-handled side. This will allow the door to close into the jamb.

  8. Install the door onto the track. Adjust the expander as necessary to keep the door on the track. Adjust the bottom and expander screws to get a smooth operation, then install the lock down screws (2) to the inside notched area of the expander.
