MATERIALS:

  • All sections are 6063 extruded aluminum,
with a T-5 heat treating to assure maximum strength.

  • Master frame and Z-Bar shapes feature .060 gauge walls throughout.

  • All other insert shapes have .050 gauge nominal walls.

ASSEMBLY:

  • Master frames are mitre cut and joined by 6" x 1.705" x .890" zinc pressure cast corner gussets.

  • Each gusset is fastened by six (6) 5/8" #10 stainless steel screws.

  • Side rails are joined by a hollow mullion which is end milled to match the rail profile and become an integral part of the door's frame.
(NOTE: Westchester and Westport doors are an all glass design and do not have a mullion.)

WEATHER-SEALING:

  • Master frame is weather-stripped with a .140" nylon pile

  • Z-Bar sides and header are weather-stripped with a .350" nylon pile.

  • The sizing of the nylon piles allow for a 30% crush height, providing a better seal against bugs and the elements.

  • Kick-panel material is .032 gauge pebble design all aluminum, which is caulked and bonded into a U-slot in the master frame and mullion.
This helps to eliminate most rattling noises.

  • The optional 3/4" insulated kick-panel utilizes an .060 gauge extruded picture-frame style channel that accepts a sandwich of 3/4" insulation board and two pieces of .032 aluminum that is glued together with a special 3M™ adhesive.

  • The picture frame is then fastened together using four (4) #6 stainless steel screws, and inserted into specially designed U-slots in the door frame.
This gives a flush exterior and interior finish.

  • All doors are provided with bottom expanders of Internal design with a finseal rubber sweep for improved adjustability and a more aesthetically pleasing finish.

GLAZING:

  • Glass panels are of marine style (wrap around) glazing, whereby, an extruded vinyl U-spline is wrapped around the entire edge of the glass, and then inserted into the aluminum overlap frame.

  • All glass is 1/8" tempered and stamped with the manufacturer's logo for authenticity.

SCREEN:

  • Screen wire is 18 x 16 aluminum mesh, anodized with a charcoal tint for minimum glare and maximum corrosion resistance.

  • TigerWire in coated galvanized or Stainless Steel mesh is also available, for when security is an issue. This screen is also guaranteed to be pet proof. For details see our Warranty page.

HARDWARE:

  • All door kits consist of one heavy duty closure, one safety chain with hold up spring, one pushbutton black colonial style latch (standard), and all necessary installation screws.

  • All installation screws are stainless steel.
This avoids unsightly stripping or breakage during installation.

  • Optional handlesets include solid brass, brass plated, black chrome, white, glass crystal, and a solid brass security mortise lockset.

FINISH:

  • All extruded aluminum materials are etched and electrostatically painted with a white or bronze enamel, and then thermally cured to ensure a beautiful finish even after years of inclement weather.

  • Our brass-style double insulated kick-panel utilizes a gold-color mirrored Plexiglas. This is used to eliminate the need to constantly polish any tarnish out. Giving years of truly maintenance-free shine.

GUARANTEE:

  • All work and materials are of first quality workmanship, and guaranteed to be free from defects in accordance with our standard Warranty for doors and our Pet Proof guarantee for TigerWire.
